The Vans Authentic is the original Vans shape, first made in the original Van Doren Rubber Company shop in Anaheim, California, back in 1966. Designed for yachting, popular with long-haired pool skaters, it’s a bonafide classic. These ‘DX’ ones here are a bit fancier than most, and have been made with higher rubber foxing, thicker canvas and cushioned insoles for a slightly more solid feel. Pretty classy.
